The incident was reported in a Dooru village late lasty night. Reports suggest that the weapon snatchers managed their entry into the room of the tower station where weapons were kept. They took five and fled. The snatched weapons include 3 SLRs, one INSAS and a carbine. Cops radioed the details to the senuior officers and an alert was immediateloy sounded. One report said some senior officer visited the spot late in the night. The guard of the Low Power Transmission Station was reportedlyt replaced and made more secure. South Kashmir is witnessed a massive apptite for the weapons in the last three months. The trend is indicative of more youth joining the militancy but not having enough of weapons. There have been more than 30 such incidents from the belt. The trend was made popular by slain Hizb militant Burhan Wani whose killing in July trigered the ongoing unrest.
